Spiritual Healing Tours - Brazil

General Information

Passports, Visa, Insurance & Currency

Passports

Your passport must be valid for 6 months after date of arrival in Brazil.  If your country requires a Brazil Visa, for a 10 year Visa you will need two blank facing pages in your passport for your Visa stamp (typically the last few pages of the passport are marked “amendment” and are not valid for Visas).   Passport processing times vary seasonally.  Apply as soon as possible.

For US citizens - locate facility to apply for a passport here:  https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/

Brazil Visa

A Visa is required for US, and Canada and Australia, but not European Union, New Zealand or United Kingdom passport holders.   An E-Visa is valid for 2 years and in the US it is $44.24* with a typical processing time of 5 business days.  A passport stamped Visa is generally valid for 10 years and in the US cost is $160* plus service agency fee with processing time from 2 weeks to 90 days.

Upon registration I will send you detailed instructions to apply, and be available to answer any questions.

Generally to apply for a Visa one needs to have:

  • Two blank facing pages in passport for your Visa stamp (typically the last few pages of the passport are marked “amendment” and are not valid for Visas).

  • Passport photo (2 inch x 2 inch) (get 2 extra to bring with you).

  • Driver’s license copy (must be notarized in some US states).

  • Completed Visa application form.

  • Travel dates.

  • Under age 18 may require a notarized birth certificate and a notarized Travel Authorization form (even if both parents are traveling with the child).

Insurance – Travel and Medical

It is mandatory that you purchase travel/medical insurance within 14 days of booking your flight for emergency medical and cancellation protection.  Pre-existing medical conditions may be covered if travel/medical insurance is booked within 14 days of airline ticket purchase.  You may purchase with your airline ticket, or purchase by comparing plans and policies on this site:  http://www.insuremytrip.com/

Currency/Money/Credit and Debit Cards

The Brazilian currency is Reals, pronounced “hay-AHL” or Reais, pronounced “hay-eyes”.   As part of the walking tour of the Casa Community, I will take you to the money exchange facility.

Few shops in Abidiania accept credit cards.  If you bring a credit card or cash card for the rare instances that you can use it, it is recommended that you call the card company in advance to inform them of your travels.

The Casa bookstore accepts MasterCard and Visa for purchases above $R50.  The Casa pharmacy accepts credit cards for the purchase of the prescribed herbs. Personal Checks, money orders and travelers checks are not accepted in Abadiania.

It is suggested that you bring approximately $400-$600US in cash to cover miscellaneous expenses for a two week tour.  Some may spend more on crystals and souvenirs, some may spend less.
